Arthur Greenslade became a Music Director for Starborne through the offices of Valentine Music in London, England. Arthur was born May 4, 1923 at Northfleet, Kent. His passing took place at Sydney, Australia on November 27, 2003.
Arthur enjoyed a long career as an arranger, conductor and music director for several popular artists. They include Shirley Bassey for whom Arthur famously arranged “Goldfinger” and “Send in the Clowns”.
Other Greenslade arrangements were done for Engelbert Humperdinck, Johnny Mathis, Rod McKuen, Jack Jones, Genesis, Cat Stevens, Diana Ross, and Dusty Springfield. His most controversial arrangement was “Je Taime” done for French performers Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin.
Arthur’s productions for Starborne are some of the most innovative and, at the time, most “contemporary” of the library.
